Danish Grand Prix rider Lone Bang Larsen is pregnant but still aiming to qualify for the Danish team for the 2010 World Equestrian Games in Lexington, KY.
Bang Larsen, who is due to give birth to her baby at the end of June, is working on a very strong season with her Grand Prix horse Fitou L (by Florestan x May Sherif). At the 2010 CDI Bremen, the pair finished third in the Special at the CDI Bremen with a 69.875% score. At the 2010 CDI-W Gothenberg, they scored 68.978% in the Grand Prix and 70.950% in the Kur to Music.
Bang Larsen has been spotted as a potential Danish team rider for the 2010 World Equestrian Games, but her baby plans could be disrupting. The Danish rider, however, aims to be back in the saddle as soon as possible to qualify for WEG.
"I hope to be fit very soon after," Bang Larsen told Eurodressage, adding that "my plan is to compete at the 2010 Danish Championship at the end of July. I would love to run for the Danish 2010 WEG team with Fitou."
Bang Larsen and Fitou L competed for Denmark and the 2004 and 2005 World Young Horse Championships in Verden. The 11-year old Danish warmblood only competed at small tour level twice before making the transition to Grand Prix.
