Champ and Grimaldi AS were the winners of two Bundeschampionate qualification classes held at the regional show in Grabsleben in the Thuringia area on 11 - 13 June 2010.
The 5-year old L-level division was an atypical mixed qualifier for 6-year old ponies and 5-year old horses.
Because there are so few qualification events in East Germany, ponies were given the possibility to get selected for the BuCha at this show. Ponies need a score of at least 7.5 to make it to Warendorf, horses one of 8.0.
The pony Champ (by Champion de Luxe) won the 5-year old division. Under Marie-Luise Misztl the chestnut mare scored 8.0. They beat Matthias Schneider on the Hanoverian Stratege (by Sandro Hit) with 7.7.
In the 6-year old division Volker Möller and Jutta Brede's Rhinelander branded stallion Grimaldi AS (by Goethe x Fangio) were unbeatable. With an 8.3 score they claimed the blue ribbon and distanced themselves from second placed Leona Barthel and Sambalina with 8.1.
