Richard Davison’s Grand Prix dressage ride, Hiscox Artemis, is not only amassing more than his fair share of international victories but now he has notched up a Royal performance. Her Majesty The Queen enjoyed a dressage master-class by Richard
, Britain’s Olympic Dressage Team Captain, while his son Joe rode the 11 year Westfalian gelding Artemis, who is owned by the Countess of Derby and John Dodd.
Richard and Joe demonstrated how to train and ride the key grand prix movements such as piaffe, passage and flying changes.
“It was an honour to provide The Queen with an insight into our training methods and she seemed particularly interested to meet Hiscox Artemis in the flesh, and discuss his future plans” said Richard
Joe is Britain’s current Under-18 yrs National Champion and has recently returned from Moorsele, Belgium where he was a member of the victorious gold medal winning Young Rider Show Jumping Team. He combines his show jumping with an equine anatomy and physiology degree course at Reaseheath College where the master-class took place aferwhich Her Majesty officially opened the new Equine Unit.
