Germans Charlott Maria Schürmann and Fabienne Lütkemeier clinched the kur to music gold medal at the 2010 European Junior and Young Riders Championships in Kronberg, Germany, on Sunday 25 July 2010.
Ann Kathrin Linsenhoff's Schafhof was filled to the brim with spectators who were eager to have a glimpse of the super high quality field of junior and young riders that qualified to compete in the Kur to Music Finals on Sunday.
Seventeen-year old German junior Charlott Maria Schürmann won her third gold medal of the week riding Britta Klatte's 17-year old Hanoverian stallion World of Dreams (by World Cup I x Cardinal xx). Scoring 78.300%, Schurmann fended off Danish Cathrine Dufour and her 7-year old Danish warmblood gelding Atterupgaards Cassidy (by Caprimond x Donnerhall) who won their second silver medal after earning 77.700% for the freestyle. Dutch Danielle Houtvast claimed her second bronze medal aboard the 12-year old KWPN bred Rambo (by Gribaldi x Amor) scoring 76.900%.
In the Young Riders division the battle of the bulge was between Germans Fabienne Lutkemeier and Sanneke Rothenberger. Lutkemeier dealt with a super hot and rather tense Hanoverian D'Agostino, but there was so much expression and power in their test that the pair ended up with their third gold medal after scoring a massive 79.350%. Sanneke Rothenberger and her Oldenburg gelding Deveraux OLD (by De Niro x Rohdiamant) were harmony pure even though the canter was a bit lacklustre. They received 79.000% from the panel of judges and earned silver. The surprise medallist was Danish Anna Kasprzak on the licensed stallion Blue Hors Future Cup (by Florestan). According to the president of the jury, Katrina Wüst, Kasprzak's original and difficult choreography made her stand out from the rest of the field and earned her a high score. The Danish duo put a 77.300% on the scoreboard and Kasprzak got her first individual European medal in her career.
