German magazine St. Georg broke the news today that Falk Rosenbauer has lost the ride on one of Germany's most talented Grand Prix horses, Desperados.
Owner Sprehe decided to give the black stallion to daughter Kristina who will train him under the supervision of Jurgen Koschel.
The Hanoverian licensed stallion Desperados (by De Niro x Wolkenstein II) was one of the shooting stars in Germany in 2010. He won the Medien Cup qualifier in Hagen and the 2010 Hamburg Dressage Derby under his long time trainer and rider Falk Rosenbauer, who is based at Gestut Gronwohldhof.
Desperados has also made his mark as a breeding stallion. DaughterDoris Day became the 2010 Bundeschampion in the 3-year old Mares and
Geldings class
"On Monday they picked up the stallion," Rosenbauer told St. Georg.
The 23-year old Kristina Sprehe, who won the 2009 Piaff Forderpreis for young Grand Prix riders, has been sidelined for a while as her Grand Prix mount Royal Flash is having a break. Gestut Sprehe commented that they consider this a "test case." They want to test how well the combination Kristina - Desperados will work.
