The 6-year old licensed Dutch warmblood stallion Ziësto (by Lancet x Clavecimbel) has been sold to Gaston Glock from Austria. The bay stallion, who won the consolation finals at the 2010 World Young Horse Championships.
Ziësto will be riden by Glock's head rider, the Dutch Marcel Schoenmakers.
The bay stallion was originally owned by Jacques Maree, Tim Coomans and Academy Bartels, the same syndicate which owned Ziesto's sire Lancet. Gerdine Maree trained and competed the temperamental stallion, who was known for his unconcentrated stallion behaviour in the show ring. The horse matured at age six and under Maree he claimed fame by finishing 14th at the 2010 World Young Horse Championships in Verden.
"After Verden there was a lot of interest for the stallion. Schoemakers told Tim Coomand he was looking for quality horses. It immediately clicked between Marcel and Ziesto," said Gerdine Maree. "Marcel came a few times to try the stallion and the click stayed."
Ziësto competed in the KWPN Stallion Competition circuit and Pavo Cup as well as at two World Young Horse Championships. "Sometimes you have to be realistic," Maree added. "It does not make sense to say no to serious clients.
Ziësto will be offered at stud in Austria.
