British rider Melissa Beer from Horsham, West Sussex, will be one of the fourteen young riders to make the final line-up of the FEI Young Rider World Cup Dressage Final 2010. The 19-year old will travel to Frankfurt CDI, Germany, 15-19 December to take up her wildcard place in the competition with her 17-year old chestnut gelding Celestial King.
Beer will compete against riders from 13 other nations across Europe, North America, Australasia and South America for the prestigious title.
Melissa is no stranger to the international dressage scene having represented Great Britain on the junior dressage team in 2007, 2008 and 2009 with her long-term ride Celestial King, a Dutch warmblood gelding by Balzflug x Casanova. However 2010 has been their first step up to young rider level where they have enjoyed encouraging results including two third places from international outings this year to Addington CDI, UK and Compiegne CDI, France.
