French dressage rider Alizée Froment is succeeding Claire Gosselin as French FEI pony chef d'equipe. The 23-year old Froment was officially appointed to her new position by the French Equestrian Federation on 20 December 2010.
Together with Emmanuelle Schramm and Alain Francqueville, Froment will sit down and draw up a plan to support and stimulate pony dressage in France.
In the past French pony riders got the opportunity to ride in youth riders' clinics with German Hartwig Burfeind. The next session is planned for 27 - 30 December 2010 in Saumur.
"The job is really new to me," Froment told Eurodressage. The clinic in Saumur will be the opportunity for me to discover the riders, ponies, trainers and parents a little bit better. I will be working with them the next
months and years."
When asked what her goals for 2011 are, Froment replied that "the French team is young. Three of the four riders of Bishop Burton's
European championships are now too old, so we have to build a new team, new combinations. But we still have the young Joy Albeck who stays with us
and we have some good young combinations also."
In 2007 and 2008 Alizee Froment was member of the French Team that competed at the European Young Riders Championships. She is also a double bronze medalist at the 2007 and 2008 French Young Riders Championships. She was educated as a rider at the French National Equestrian Centre in Saumur (2005-2008). With her top horse Mistral du Coussoul, a bay Lusitano stallion, she competed at international small tour level in 2009.
