The French youth team hopefuls met with German Grand Prix rider Hartwig Burfeind at an official three-day clinic at the National Equestrian Centre in Saumur, France, on 27 - 30 December 2010.
Brand new French pony chef d'equipe Alizee Froment met her pony team candidates for the first time and was able to talk and work with them as well as with Burfeind. Three of five pony riders got the opportunity to clinic with Burfeind, as the German mostly worked with the juniors and young riders.
"During these three days we saw really clear progress from Lisa Cez, Florian Aubin and Morgane Euriat," Froment told Eurodressage. "Hartwig seemed really satisfied and said that we have good combinations for the future."
The three-day clinic proved to be the ideal venue for a meeting with the pony parents where Froment explained her plans and goals for 2011 and next years. "It allowed us to discuss, learn a little bit more about each other, and
answer some questions," she said.
Not all French FEI pony riders were able to the clinic in December due to a restricted number of entries, but they will get a second opportunity at a new clinic in February. There will also be a first observation competition at the end of February 2011.
