Kooijman and Krooswijk Prevail at Third Leg of 2011 CHIO Cup

Tthe Dutch CHIO Cup show circuit continued with its tird leg at Stable Olympic in Uden, The Netherlands, on Sunday 27 February 2011. Junior rider Stephanie Kooijman and young rider Angela Krooswijk prevailed against the competition, winning their division with seventy percentage marks.

Aboard her powerhouse Dutch warmblood gelding Winston (by OO Seven), Kooijman topped the leader board. A student of Tineke Bartels, Kooijman received 70.45% from the panel of judges. Former FEI pony team rider Suzanne van de Ven ranked second with the German bred mare Donna Gracia (by Donnerschlag) on 68.74%. Dana van Lierop, who has both been riding in the pony and junior riders' divisions, finished third with DJ Tiesto (by Rohdiamant) on 68.29%. Kooijman also slotted in fifth on her second mount, Westwood (by Werther's Wels).

"Recently Stephanie rides very consistently," said Kooijman's trainer and Dutch JR/YR chef d''equipe Tineke Bartels. "She stands out with her nice seat and the ease with which she rides her horses in the ring."

Coby van Baalen's long-time student Angela Krooswijk reigned supreme on the Rhinelander branded stallion Roman Nature (by Rohdiamant). They achieved an impressive 72.89% and referred Marjolein Cho Chia Yuen on Cho's Pepper (by Pablo) to second place (71,32%). Former junior rider Daniëlle Houtvast finished third on her European bronze medal winning Rambo (by Gribaldi) with 69,39%. Melissa Tychon, who is currently leading the young riders ranking in the CHIO cup with her Trakehner Marinetty (by Solero), was fourth with 69,30%.

"Angela rode a beautifully concentrated test and did not loose any points," said Krooswijk's trainer Coby van Baalen. "This resulted in a wonderful score of more than 72%."

The next CHIO Cup qualifier is on Sunday 20 March 2011 at Equestrian Centre De Kroo in Nieuw en Sint Joosland, The Netherlands.
