The Medien Cup, the highly prestigious and tongue-wagging young Grand Prix horse show circuit in Germany, will continue through 2011 with a new sponsor: Tesch Inkasso. The show circuit has been renamed Tesch Inkasso Cup.
Due to the bankruptcy of company Medien AG last year, the 2010 Medien Cup Finals were slightly lacklustre as the promised prize of a Porsche Panamera was never handed over to the winner of the series.
The 2011 Tesch Inkasso Cup will start with the first qualifier at the 2011 CDI Hagen - Horses & Dreams - competition at Ullrich Kasselmann's stable in Hagen, Germany, 4 - 8 May. Other legs include Hamburg (2-5 June), Balve (16-19 June), Werder (7-10 July) and the finals in Munster from 25-28 August 2011.
Super star Grand Prix horses which came to florish through this show circuit include Isabell Werth's El Santo NRW, Anabel Balkenhol's Dablino and Gestut Tanennhof's Carabas, which later on sold to Andreas Helgstrand and then returned back to Germany.
"We barely have opportunities to present young horses at big shows. We have all seen what this project with its previous sponsors has brought about. The show circuit became an establishment on the show scene. We're all happy that it will continue," said Isabell Werth. "It's a classical example how it can go: from Nurnberger Burgpokal, to the young horse Grand Prix and to the big show circuit."
The Cup includes the Intermediaire II as warm up class, following by a special young horse Grand Prix test for horses between 8 and 10.
