Local favourite Victoria Max-Theurer swept the board at the 2011 CDI Stadl Paura in her home country as she won all four Grand Prix level classes aboard her Oldenburg stallion Augustin OLD (by August der Starke) and Westfalian gelding Eichendorff (by Ehrentusch).
Victoria saddled her 2009 European Championship mount Augustin OLD for the Special tour and scored top notes. With 74,77% in the Grand Prix and 75,58% in the Special she had no trouble pushing away all competition. With the 13-year old Eichendorff, she scored 70,66% in the Grand Prix and 75,98% in the Kur to Music.
German Olympian Heike Kemmer has to count on her second iron in the fire, the 16-year old Westfalian Feleciano (by Florestan), as her number one Olympic gold and bronze medal winning Bonaparte (by Bon Bonaparte) is still off for more than one year now due to injury and an infection after a tick bite. Riding to Bonaparte's Beach Boys freestyle, Kemmer and Feleciano placed second with 73,83% in the kur, after another second place in the Grand Prix with 69,94%
Kemmer's student, Canadian 2006 North American Young Riders Champion Pia Fortmuller, left a fantastic impression in this field of international Grand Prix riders aboard her Dutch warmblood Orion (by Jazz). The young Canadian finished third twice with 69,77% and 72,85%, scores which would put her in strong contention for a place on the Canadian team. Orion was Canadian Leslie Reid's 2008 Olympic mount which German born Pia bought in 2009. As of September 2009 Fortmuller relocated from Vancouver back to Germany and was initially training with Leonie Brammall before switching to Heike Kemmer.
