British Dressage announced that the Bartels family will be the guest speakers at this year’s National Convention, Saturday 26 - Sunday 27 November 2011 at Hartpury College, Gloucestershire.
The Bartels family is Holland’s legendary first family of dressage, Joep and Tineke Bartels and their daughter, current European and World team gold-medallist Imke Schellekens-Bartels. The family will present ‘Riding with Awareness and Feel’, including learning theory, sports psychology and the personality of the horse.
The husband and wife team of Joep and Tineke established the highly regarded training facility Academy Bartels in Hooge Mierde, The Netherlands back in the 1960s. Imke and her brother Gijs later joined their parents in the company with Imke focusing on the sport aspect while Gijs manages the events side.
Academy Bartels holds innovative educational projects, including the acclaimed Global Dressage Forum – the leading debating platform for the international dressage world.
