The 2011-2012 Western European League World Cup season will soon start with the 2011 CDI-W Odense, where international dressage and show jumping will take place at the Odense congress centre from 13 - 23 October 2011. Odense will be the first qualifier out of 9 in total. With only 15 slots open for Finals in s´Hertogenbosch in April, placing at the top at each qualifier is a necessity.
World-Class competitors
Through the years, the horse show in Odense has been visited by quite a few world-stars – not least the German rider Isabell Werth who won the Odense qualifier three out of four times! There is a tradition that the best riders find their way to Odense for the World Cup start, and the audience will presumably get the opportunity to experience some of the profiles from the recent European Championships.
Double up on upcoming stars
Odense will also be the location for the Danish Young Horse Championship in dressage and show jumping. The audience will be able to witness the coming stars at this event. Many of the participating horses will be shown by some of the most successful Danish riders in their pursuit of training a new top horse. The dressage finals will be on Friday 21 October, while the jumping horses will have to wait until Sunday 23 October.
Experience the young European Championship medallists
This summer's European Junior and Young Riders Championships were held at Broholm Castle in Denmark. It was a fabulous event filled with elegant riding and athletic highlights. At the show in Odense you will be able to catch a glimpse of the European Championships, as there will be international tests in dressage for juniors, young riders and U25, with participation of several of the medallists – perhaps for some of the riders it will be an opportunity for a rematch.
Even though the climax of the event are the World Cup Dressage classes, the show in Odense is a horn of plenty for horse enthusiasts. The program is full of treats, such as auctions, international show jumping, shows, championships and night-parties. There are eleven days with a fantastic programme for audience, competitors and sponsors.
