Sweden's leading Grand Prix rider, Patrik Kittel, will be missing the 2011 Swedish Dressage Championships in Helsingborg due to personal health problems. The 2011 European Championship kur bronze medalist is suffering from kidney stones.
"After competing in Lyon I felt that my health was not 100%," Kittel explained. "After visiting the doctor, I must now have treatment on my kidneys. With the treatments taking place this week, it is now not possible to start at the Swedish Championships."
Kittel regrets not being able to attend the Swedish nationals. "This is a sad thing for me, as I looked forward to competing at the Championships," he said.
Patrik hopes to make his show come back at the CDI Oldenburg next week. He has also planned to compete his top horse Scandic at the CDI-W Mechelen right after Chrismas.
