American young rider champion Isabelle Leibler has been selected to represent the United States at the 2011 Young Riders World Cup Finals held at the CDI-W Frankfurt on 14 - 18 December 2011. Leibler achieved the highest average score in the country in order to be fielded as U.S. representative.
Aboard the Westfalian gelding Watson, a former PSI auction horse by Weinzauber x Damenstolz, the 16-year old Leibler won the 2011 North American Young Riders Championships as well as the 2011 U.S. Young Riders Championships in Gladstone, NJ.
“I am very excited to be able to participate at the World Cup,” Isabelle told Dressage-news.com. “Watsy and I have had a great summer, and we hope to top off the year with a great experience in Frankfurt. It will be awesome to get back into the meat of European competition–especially with a horse like Watsy.”
Leibler has been to Europe on one other occasion, training with Cornelia Endres and competing her pony at the 2010 CDI-PJYR Hagen on a training grant from the Dressage Foundation. While over in Europe, Leibler bought the chestnut gelding Watson at Hof Kasselmann and took the horse with her to America.
