The 2011 Oldenburg Stallion Licensing in Vechta, Germany, closed off with the traditional Althengst Parade in which Oldenburg approved stallions are presented under saddle. Different Parade formats have been tested. In the past it was a 6 hour show in which you got a horse-overdose. The format is now more concise, which is better for the attention span, but there was a clear lack of highlights at this year's parade.
While stallions shone like bright stars, there were others that disappointed and made one wonder what they were actually doing there. Highlights certainly were the gorgeous, refined and well moving Licotus (by Likoto xx x Donnerhall), Furstenball (by Furst Heinrich x Donnerhall), Rubinio B (by Rubin Royal x Florestan) and Dante Weltino (by Danone x Welt Hit II).
Check out a photo report of most of the dressage stallions that appeared in the 2011 Oldenburg Althengstparade.
