After the final presentation of colts that concluded the 50-day 2011 KWPN autumn stallion performance testing in Stegeren, The Netherlands, four "older" colts were presented under saddle in order to be accepted to compete in the KWPN licensing process. Two of them passed.
Initially five dressage colts were entered for this under saddle presentation, but four made it to the venue. The rejected stallions that were on the list were a Dimaggio x Wolkentanz II, a Jazz x Contango and a Johnson x Cabochon.
The stallions which were invited to continue KWPN licensing process by competing in the KWPN/KNHS Stallion Competition circuit are the Baden Wurttemberger approved Jack Sparrow (by Johnson x Wolkentanz II) and the Westfalian reserve licensing champion Vitalis (by Vivaldi x D-Day).
Jack Sparrow is owned by President Stables and ridden by Edward Gal, while Vitalis is owned by Reesink Horses and ridden by Hans Peter Minderhoud.
"Of course you always have to wait and see how a young horse reacts to a strange surrounding. I can only be super happy," Minderhoud commented. "Vitalis went really well and was good on my aids. I look forward to presenting him in the stallion competition."
