Swedish Grand Prix dressage rider Cecilia Dorselius has been nominated for the Comet of the Year award annually bestowed upon to the most successful upcoming Swedish equestrian athlete of the year at the Swedish Riders' Gala.
The Comet of the Year award is handed out at the Swedish Rider's Gala held in Stockholm on 8 January 2012.
The 32-year old Cecilia Andrén Dorselius is a tax accountant by profession and only has one Grand Prix horse. She competed in her first Grand Prix in 2010 and rose to stardom during the 2011 CDI show season. Dorselius and her Westfalian gelding Lennox (by Laurentianer x Florestan) got nominated for the Swedish team, which competed at the 2011 European Championships in Rotterdam and which qualified for the 2012 Olympic Games.
Dorselius is nominated for this Shooting Star award alongside Swedish eventer Christoffer Forsberg and Swedish show jumper Angelica Augustsson.
Previous recipients of the Comet of the Year award were Emma Karlsson and Sara Henrietta Bergstrom Kallstrom.
The Comet of the Year Award is presented by Swedish equestrian magazine RIDSPORT. The riders are nominated by the editorial staff and the readers of the magazine get to vote on the winner.
