Anky van Grunsven will not be travelling to Florida to compete in the World Dressage Masters in Palm Beach and on the Florida show circuit with Salinero and Upido.
Dressage-News reported that Van Grunsven cancelled her Florida trip because of her partner Sjef Janssen's health issues. The 61-year old Janssen was recently operated on a benign brain tumour and still has to undergo frequent check-ups at the hospital, making overseas travelling difficult.
“We are really sorry and we really regret it,” Janssen told dressage-news.com. “We were really looking forward to it and hope that we can come to Florida at another stage.”
Van Grunsven had originally planned to show Salinero in the World Dressage Masters while Upido would make his show debut with Anky on the Florida circuit. She would also have been coaching student Morgan Barbançon on Painted Black.
