The Hanoverian gelding Warum Nicht FRH is the top earning German dressage horse of 2011. The ranking was published in the annual yearbook of the German Equestrian Federation.
All horses ranked in the top 10 earned their prize money at Grand Prix level competing at national and international shows from 1 October 2010 till 30 September 2011.
Ridden by Isabell Werth and owned by Madeleine Winter-Schulze, Warum Nicht is by Weltmeyer out of a Wenzel dam. He totaled a purse of 118,008 euro.
Ulla Salzgeber's Rhinelander gelding Herzruf's Erbe (by Herzruf) is the runner-up with an income of 107,970 euro. Winter-Schulze's Rhinelander El Santo NRW (by Ehrentusch) slotted in third with 70,345 euro.
