Swedish Grand Prix rider Pernilla Andre-Hokfelt has been hired by the Flyinge State Stud to support its dressage team. Starting in the spring, Hokfelt will start teaching the students of the Bereiter program but her job might be extended to training the staff as well.
Pernilla Andre-Hokfelt is a highly esteemed dressage rider and trainer in Sweden. She has won six Swedish Championship gold medals and trained numerous horses up to Grand Prix level. She is currently competing horses such as Christo, Wladimir O.A. and Bonzai.
"Nowadays Flyinge has a very strong team of dressage instructors with Bo Jena, Susanne Gielen, Mette Henriksen and Olof Axelsson but any new input is good for the inspiration. Pernilla is a very welcome addition to this process and I look forward working with her," said Niclas Erwall, training manager at Flyinge.
"It will be fun to work at Flyinge and I think it's important that Flyinge continues to develop itself in all equestrian disciplines," said Hokfelt. "As a young child I always went there to look at good riding and it will be great to see how this co-operation will work."
Hokfelt is focusing on qualifying for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
