The 4-year old Salinas was the top of the bill and best selling horse at the first auction of 2012 held at the Westfalian equestrian centre in Munster-Handorf on Sunday 22 January 2012. This gelding is by Swarovski x Florestan x Weinberg and sold for 41,000 euro to Russia.
Salinas was born in the stables of Norbert Borgmann, who also bred Grand Prix horses Floriano (Steffen Peters) and Eichendorff (Victoria Max-Theurer). The liver chestnut was presented at auction by Wolfgang Stritzke.
The second most expensive horse of the auction was Felipe Santana (by Florestan x Likoto xx). He sold to Bavaria for 38,000 euro.
Seventeen 2-year old colts were offered for sale at this winter auction and the liver chestnut Stollwerck (by Sandro Bedo x Playmate xx x Rapallo) achieved the highest knock down price. He sold for 33,500 euro to a buyer from Schleswig-Holstein. Karl Seinke's 2-year old Rock Forever and Ever (by Rock Forever x Pit x Fruhlingsball) fold for 26,000 euro to the United States.
Three riding ponies sold at auction. The top seller was the 4-year old Nice Little Lady (by Nagano x Dublino), which sold for 4,000 euro to someone local.
Thirty-five sport horses in total were sold at this auction and they achieved an average price of 13,703 euro. The average price for a 2-year old colt was 12,412 euro. Fifteen horses sold abroad of which four to Russia.
