2012 CDI Vidauban to Host All Big Tour Classes before Olympic Cut-off Date

Two weeks of competition at the 2012 Spring Tour at Domaine Equestre des Grands Pins in Vidauban, France, is set to begin next week. This huge high profile three-star CDI competition is the last European Olympic selection event before the Olympic cut-off date. The Vidauban show organisation has accommodated its schedule to host all Olympic qualifiers before 1 March 2012.

The Spring Tour starts on 22 February and runs through 4 March 2012 but all CDI Grand Prix and Special classes will be held before 1 March 2012. For the second week the organizers have pulled forward the big tour classes. The Grand Prix will be on Wednesday 29 February and the Grand Prix Special as well as the Freestyle will be held on 1 March 2012.

A record number of 308 horses have been entered to compete at all levels. The first week of competition is from 22 - 26 February, the second week starts on 29 February and will conclude on Sunday 4 March 2012.

All levels of international competition will be featured in Vidauban, starting from young horse classes for 5 and 6-year olds as well as the pony, junior and young riders division and small and big tour. Each CDI week carries a purse of 28,000 € euro.

Vidauban also included the highly popular 'Test of Choice' class in which riders can compete in three FEI level preferred test while being judges by three international judges. Riders participating in the Test of Choice class will receive a photo, video and dinner courtesy of the show organizers.

The weather forecast for the event is promising to be splendid. Daytime weather is mild with total sunshine and 20° C while the nights will be crispy and chilly.
