Equestrian Australia (EA) will be holding its annual Sport Achievement Awards Night on 2 May 2012 at ANZ Stadium, Sydney Olympic Park. This important evening celebrates the highest achievers in the sport past and present.
In 2011 Equestrian Australia introduced the Equestrian Hall of Fame to immortalise the outstanding achievements of its members throughout the history of the sport. EA looks forward to inducting more greats of the sport in 2012.
“The 2011 Annual Sport Achievement Award’s were presented for the first time as a gala evening which saw 300 guests gather for the celebration. This is the night of nights for equestrian sport in Australia and we look forward to 2012 being bigger and better,” commented Grant Baldock, CEO of Equestrian Australia.
In a change from previous years, the 2012 Sport Achievement Awards finalists will be nominated by the EA State Branches (for the categories Club of the Year, Event of theYear, Volunteer of the Year, Administrator of the Year, Coach of the Year and Owner of the Year). The National Performance Directors will nominate finalists for International and Domestic Horse of the Year, International and Domestic Athlete of the Year as well as Young Athlete of the Year.
In 2012 EA will welcome back swimming legend Nicole Livingstone (OAM) as the host of the ceremonies. Ticket buyers are urged to get in early as tickets are limited.
Australia's success on the international sporting arena has earned the country a reputation as one of the top equestrian nations in the world. This reputation is only possible due to extraordinary achievements and dedication by EA members.
So come along to celebrate the achievements of Australia’s equestrian community.
