It has been a good week for Richard Davison and the connections of his top ride Hiscox Artemis. Not only, earlier this week, did they qualify for a place at the forthcoming World Cup Final, but it has just been confirmed that they have secured an individual place for Great Britain at this summers Olympic Games.
Out of the eleven qualified teams, only three nations achieved a fourth quota place; joining Great Britain are Germany, Holland. The individual quota allocation is awarded to the National Olympic Committee and is determined by the rider’s standing on the Olympic Ranking Order, a specific derivation of the World Dressage Rankings. The list concluded at midnight 1st March 2012.
Points on the ranking are obtained according to percentage results achieved from FEI competitions. Especially since Olympia last December, Hiscox Artemis has achieved consistently high results, always well into in the seventy percentage range, at high level 5 star equivalent competitions. The 13 year old gelding is owned by The Countess of Derby and John Dodd, and is sponsored Hiscox Insurance.
