Cambridge based Kate Welten and Amajah take home the New Zealand Young Riders Champion's Title for the second year in a row at the 2012 New Zealand Dressage Championships at Manfield Park Equestrian Centre in Fielding, on 2 - 4 March 2012. Kelly van Dyk settled for reserve champion by only half a point.
Welton and her 11-year old New Zealand bred Amajah (by Anamour x Ramzes II) emerged victorious in the Young Rider Kur to Music with 66.175%, while Kelly van Dyk and Wohlkahn were second with 65.125%. Putaruru's Van Dyk and her imported German Warmblood gelding are Welton's biggest competitors on the NZ dressage scene.
Rebecca Goldsbury and the NZ Hanoverian Avante Garde (by Anamour x Dynamit) finished third with 59.500%, followed by Chelsea Callaghan on the Hanoverian mare Royal Aspen with 56.150%
