On 12 - 13 March 2012 the French Equestrian Federation organized a clinic with German trainer Hans-Heinrich Meyer zu Strohen for French FEI trainers at the Equestrian Parc of Lamotte Beuvron, France.
Riders were invited with young horses, small and big tour horses and were able to train with returning clinician Meyer Zu Strohen under chef d'equipe Alain Franqueville's supervision.
In beautiful sunny weather Hans Heinrich coached Laurence Blaya, Annick Dauban, Marc Brulé, Virginie Mathys, Vincent Guillauteau, Sarah Casanova, Jean Etienne Suisse de Saint Clair and Camille Judet-Cheret in the outdoor arena.
The goal was to show trainers how to best deal with all situations facing technical or psychological issues. Meyer zu Strohen welcomes questions during training sessions and in the afternoon all participants met in a seminar room where training methods were being discussed. Questions ranged from how to teach a horse piaffe to the difference between Dutch and German methods.
Lunch and dinner were spent together and the atmosphere was extremely amicable.
The French Equestrian Federation initiated this training clinic following the advice from a group of dressage specialists who suggested those events could improve the quality of training in the show ring.
The next two clinics with Meyer zu Strohen take place 16 - 17 April in Saumur and 14 - 15 May in Jablines.
