Horses & Dreams meets Great Britain, the CDI 4-star from 25 - 29 April 2012 will be a vital test of strength for the best riders in the run up to the 2012 London Olympics: We're still several weeks away from the top sporting highlight of the year in London, but equestrian sports fans can already enjoy a taste of Olympic flair in Hagen a.T.W.
The first international riders' show of the outdoor season is attracting top riders in their masses to Hof Kasselmann. For four days the CDI4* will be the tournament meeting point for the riding elite – World Championship runner-up Laura Bechtolsheimer (GBR), for example, will be kicking off the outdoor season in the Osnabrück region. Joining her will be her British team colleagues Carl Hester, Charlotte Dujardin, Emile Faurie and co...
Bechtolsheimer, who ever since the British team won the European Championship title in 2011 has been a top hopeful for the Olympics in London, is a real fan of the dream show at the foot of the Borgberg mountain: „I rode in my first ever international tournament in Hagen a.T.W. in 1998 – with my pony. Since then, I have competed there as a junior, as a young rider, and many times as an adult. It is a fantastic tournament with super conditions and the atmosphere is always great, thanks to Ulli and Bianca Kasselmann's typically wonderful hospitality. I am already looking forward to Horses & Dreams.”
It's getting exciting in the dressage arena, as 25-year-old German Olympic hopeful Kristina Sprehe, with her black stallion Desperados, is looking to be another very strong rider for the pre-Olympic competition at Horses & Dreams. It was only a short while ago in Dortmund that she left world-class competition such as Laura Bechtolsheimer and Isabell Werth behind her, with an impressive 81.978%. And as Matthias Rath has also announced his intention to come to Hagen with Totilas, we are currently expecting three dream black stallions, with Desperados, Uthopia and Totilas, at the “Kasselmann dressage stadium” - with a hair's breadth between them.
Of course dressage-queen Isabell Werth will also be in Hagen for the German team, as will Helen Langehanenberg with her Damon Hill. We can also look forward to seeing a former German Championship horse once again, this time with his new young Danish rider – Anna Kasprzak and Donnperignon
In any case, the sporting results from Hagen will be a good guide for the Olympic Games in London and who knows, perhaps we will see some future Olympic Champions here in Hagen.
