Members of the German Trakehner Society elected a new board of directors at the annual Trakehner members and delegates meeting at the Atlantic Hotel in Bremen, Germany, on 21 April 2012.

Two positions on the board became vacant when Dr. Hans-H. Becker and Prof. Gerriet Müller announced they were no longer up for re-election due to age and health reasons.

Petra Wilm, owner of Gestut Tasdorf, was re-elected chair of the society, a position which she has been covering since 2003. Hans-Werner Paul and Jürgen Hanke were elected as first and second vice-chairs, while Peter Michael Heinen and Martin Kessler are completing the board of six members and are replacing Becker and Müller.

Newcomers Heinen and Kessler are passionate Trakehner enthusiasts. Heinen has bred licensing champion Grand Passion and Kessler is a successful business man who needs to bring new impulses to the society.

The stallion licensing committee was re-elected and Lars Gehrmann, Steffen Bothendorf, Elmar Lesch, Dr. Hans-Peter Karp, and Hans-Leonhard Britze were voted on the committee.

Dr. Elke Söchtig was appointed treasurer of the society.

The assembly took about five hours. The 2013 General Assembly will be organized by the Trakehner regional society of Rhineland-Pfalz and Luxembourg.
