Dutch Stephanie Kooijman celebrated her 19th birthday on Sunday 6 May with her third consecutive victory of the weekend in the Young Riders division at the 2012 CDIO-PJYR Roosendaal, held at equestrian centre Den Goubergh on 4 - 6 May 2012. Aboard her impressive black gelding Winston (by OO Seven x Rhodium), Kooijman showed she's on form for the season with this hattrick.
Kooijman's Winston puts high scores on the board for his phenomenal trot work, while in canter he still leaves room for improvement in the collected work, especially the pirouettes. The combination won the team test with 75.175%, the individual with 73.772% and the kur with 77.708%.
Angela Krooswijk brought two horses to Roosendaal. With Flash (by Fidermark) she was second in the CDIO team test (73.684%), fifth in the individual (70.570%) and third in the Kur (74.458%), while the Rhinelander stallion Roman Nature (by Rohdiamant) was good for three victories in the CDI-tour with a winning 72.324% score in the team test, 72.324% in the individual, and 69.95% in the Kur.
Dutch Youth Riders Chef d'equipe Tineke Bartels was extremely pleased with the performances of her pupils.
"The show was really wonderful and very well organized," she said. "It was a successful weekend for the Dutch participants. All teams were there in full strength, because the show is a European Championship observation trial. I'm very proud of their fantastic results. These results make me very hopeful for the future but we have to stay sharp and keep practicing at fine-tuning everything."
While the entire Dutch A and B Young Riders team was in full force present in Roosendaal, a small delegation of German, Belgian, British, Norwegian and Swedish riders had traveled to the event for show experience. In the CDIO team test German Lars Schulze Sutthoff moved up the ranks to finish third on Love's Devine (by Laudabilis x Argentinus) with 72.368%. In the CDIO Individual test Swedish Elin Aspnas and her sensitive black mare Donna Romma (by Don Frederico x Warkant) were second with 72.324%. Swedish Tove Melin and her very powerfully moving dark bay gelding Dawson (by Dark Rubin x Akzent II) were second in the consolation class (69.079%), while Belgian Saidja Brison and her Swedish warmblood Moliere (by De Niro x Amiral) finished fourth in the CDI & CDIO combined kur to music with 73.291%.
