German dressage trainer Rudolf Zeilinger renewed his contract with the Danish Equestrian Federation, extending the period of his position as Danish team trainer to the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The Emsburen (GER) based Zeilinger has been Denmark's national coach since 1997. He will be assisting the Danish top Grand Prix riders at the 2013 European Championships in Herning (DEN), the 2014 World Equestrian Games in Caen (FRA) and 2016 Rio Olympics.
"Danish dressage is part of the world's best and that's where we have to stay," Zeilinger commented. "With a large group of talented young riders here in Denmark I believe that in the years to come we will be amongst those who will fight for international medals.
"Danish dressage has developed tremendously in the 15 years we have collaborated with Rudolf Zeilinger. With the challenges that lie ahead, we believe that he is the best to ensure Danish success. We are very pleased that he has agreed to continue for four more years," said Jens Erik Majlund, the secretary-general of the Danish Equestrian Federation.
