Fifty-eight 3 and 4 year old Oldenburg bred mares have been invited to compete at the 2012 Oldenburg Elite Mare show in Rastede on 19 July 2012.
After six days of Mare Performance Testings in the Oldenburg equestrian centre in Vechta, the Oldenburg selectors were able to nominate the young mares which were eligible to participate in the Elite show in Rastede.
In Rastede the mares will be presented in hand to be judged on conformation, walk and trot. Their performance test scores will be taken into account to decide on the ranking of the mares. The best mares will be invited to the "Brilliant Ring", a group of the best mares from which the champion of the year will be picked.
Sires well represented in Rastede this year are Zack (by Rousseau x Jazz) and Sir Donnerhall (Sandro Hit x Donnerhall) both with 6 offspring, Quaterback (by Quaterman x Brandenburg), San Amour (by Sandro Hit x Plaisir d'Amour and Furst Romancier (by Furst Heinrich x Romancier) with 5 offspring.
