Imke Schellekens-Bartels' medal winning mount Sunrise (by Singular Joter x Werther) will make her first public appearance again in almost two years time. The 18-year old Hanoverian mare will perform at Horse Event in Deurne on 9 September 2012.
Schellekens-Bartels and the Smarius' family Sunrise were a steady value for the Dutch team at all major championships from 2006 till 2010. In the winter of 2010 the mare injured herself in a lunging accident and it took her a year and a half to fully recover to a top fitness level.
"She couldn't recover on time for the Olympic Games, but after her rehabilitation she is daily doing again what she loves: working under her steady rider Imke," Bartels Academy posted.
Schellekens and the now 18-year old Sunrise will perform their famous Wibi Soerjadi freestyle in Deurne.
