A line-up of Olympians have preliminary entered for the World Cup season kick-off competition at the 2012 CDI-W Odense in Denmark on 17 - 21 October 2012. Odense is the first leg of eight Western European League World Cup Qualifiers with a Finals to be held in Gothenburg, Sweden, on 24 - 28 April 2012.
For the first leg of the Western European World Cup Dressage in Odense, German Olympians Helen Langehanenberg and Anabel Balkenhol are entered to compete alongside Danish Olympians Nathalie zu Sayn-Wittgenstein and Anna Kasprzak.
Dutch World Champion Edward Gal has entered with his Austrian owned KWPN gelding Undercover and his partner Hans-Peter Minderhoud will ride Tango. Minderhoud and Tango won the CDI-W Odense last year.
Swedish Olympian Tinne Vilhemsson is bring one of her three top Grand Prix horses and her country mates Minna Telde and Rose Mathiessen also announced that they are heading for Odense.
Belgian Olympic individual rider Claudia Fassaert is also listed on the preliminary entry list. Fassaert rides her Belgian warmblood mare Donnerfee (by De Niro).
The 2012-2013 Western European League World Cup season includes qualifiers at Odense, Lyon, Stuttgart, Stockholm, London, Amsterdam, Neumunster and 's Hertogenbosch.
Despite numerous complaints last year from riders who believe that the World Cup Finals take place too late in the season, the 2013 Finals in Gothenburg are once again scheduled for the end of April. The 2013 outdoor show season will already be in full swing with outdoor CDI's in Vidauban, Toledo, Nice and Hagen.
