Martin Schaudt has sold his Grand Prix horse Despino to the Rhinelander amateur Grand Prix rider Ute Kröger-Rück. Despino is a 9-year old Hanoverian gelding by De Niro x Wolkentanz I.
Schaudt acquired the bay gelding (bred by Ulrike Lahmann-Gerke) as a 4-year old at the 2007 Klosterhof Medingen auction. He trained the horse to Grand Prix level and won the first round of the Louisdor Cup Qualifier at the 2012 CDI Hagen. The pair also became the Baden Wurttemberger regional champions at Grand Prix level.
The Essen based Ute Kröger-Rück is the owner of the big furniture company Möbelstadt Rück in Oberhausen and she is an ambitious amateur Grand Prix rider. She made her claim to fame aboard the Bavarian bred Rauko (by Raueck x Absinth) in the early 2000s. The combination was quite successful at Grand Prix at national level and competed at a few international shows, such as the CDI Marienbad in the Czech Republic.
Trained by Thomas Schmitz, Kröger-Rück had been looking long for a fitting Grand Prix horse to make a new effort at coming back on the GP scene. A while ago she acquired Gestut Kempkehof's Dream of Heidelberg II, which had been competed by Emile Faurie.
