The 15-year old Oldenburg licensed stallion Royal Olymp (by Rohdiamant x Florestan) has been retired from sport and will stand at stud at his owner's place Stutteri ML in Norway.

Royal Olymp's career started in 2000. Under Johannes Westendarp and with the name Roubeni M the chestnut stallion won bronze at the 2000 Bundeschampionate and sold to Ira Denkhaus of Gestut Kempke Hof in Plaaz for 260,000 euro at the Vechta Elite Auction one month later.

Royal Olymp was trained by Kempke Hof's Ronald Luders who took him to the 2002 and 2003 Bundeschampionate in Warendorf. In 2006 the stallion sustained a career ending injury during a schooling session, in which he tore off the cap of the hamstring tendon when he stepped on his own shoe and panicked in a pirouette.

Denkhaus retired her stallion to stand at stud and the elegant chestnut disappeared from the spotlight. Norwegians Cato Strand and Stutteri ML acquired the chestnut in the late 2000s and the stallion obtained definite approval for the Norwegian Warmblood society in 2009.

After a long recovery period Royal Olymp made a come back under saddle. Norwegian FEI rider Siv Morberg took up the reins in 2011 and has been successful at national Grand Prix level with him in 2012.

Unfortunately
the stallion re-injured himself, straining the tendon and ligaments around the femur, and the owners agreed to retire the stallion from sport entirely.
