Belgian Grand Prix Marc Peter Spahn has sold his Friesian Grand Prix stallion Fryso Huys Cas to South Africa. The black stallion will remain in The Netherlands for the next two years.
Niekie Pienaar of Adelprag Friesian Stud Farm outside Potchefstroom, South Africa, acquired the black stallion for stud manager Chere Burger to ride as her 2014 World Equestrian Games' hopeful. The horse will be kept in The Netherlands and continue to train with Spahn in preparation of the WEG qualifiers.
Cas is originally named Cas van 't Hoksent but underwent two name changes: Fryso Huys Cas to indicate the sponsor and after the Fryso Huys project ended, the black stallion was baptised Anders. He is by Adel out of an Ouke dam.
In October 2012 the news was announced that the Fryso Huys project, which promoted the Friesian horse at international dressage competitions, would come to an end on 1 January 2013. Spahn trained Cas for Friesian stud farm Het Swarte Paert.
In 2012 Marc Peter Spahn and Cas competed at the international shows in Lipica and Leudelange.
