The newly appointed U.S. High Performance Committee will meet for the first time in person in Louisville, KY, on Tuesday 15 January 2013 to discuss a strategy plan to bring U.S. Dressage back on the podium at major continental championship. The first objective are the 2014 World Equestrian Games.
The new Dressage High Performance Committee includes Janet Foy, Kathy Connelly, Katherine Bateson-Chandler, Susan Blinks, Charlotte Bredahl-Baker, Robert Dover, Susan Dutta, Catherine Haddad-Staller, Christine Traurig, Elisabeth Williams, and George Williams.
In the next four years this committee of 11 people, including ex-officio Anne Gribbons and Debbie McDonald, will have the task to direct America back to the medal podiums after two consecutive Olympics without any team success.
"When you put 13 people in a room who all have had long careers in the sport and ask them how to rebuild our sport’s international status, you are bound to hear as many differing opinions as to how to get it done," Robert Dover explained. "I hope that we will be able to listen to each other with respect and find a consensus for the best interest of American Dressage and our athletes, both 2 and 4-legged. Americans are winners at heart and our goal is never just to take part, but rather always to bring home the glory!"
