An offspring by Stockholm x Harvard was proclaimed champion of the 2013 South German Stallion Licensing held in Munich, Germany on 24-26 January 2013. Eleven stallions were named premium and six of those were dressage bred colts.
Presented at the licensing by Kurt Gravemeier, the 165 cm standing Stockholm x Harvard son sold at auction for 60,000 euro to the Moritzburg State Stud.
Three our of the six dressage colts in the premium ring were sired by KWPN bred stallions. Susanna Limbecker's Boston x Donnerhall was named the reserve licensing champion and sold at auction for 125,000 euro to Uwe Schwanz. The Boston offspring sold like hot cakes at the licensing. The auction price highlight was Horst Moreike's licensed Boston x Abanos colt, which Sara Marburg acquired for 200,000 euro for Andrea Vodermair to ride.
Further premium stallions were an Ampere x Fidermark, a Quaterback x Expose, a Soliman de Hus x Wesler and a Zack x Sunny Boy. Heinrich Ramsbrock's Ampere colt sold for 150,000 euro to stallion station Massener Heide and the Zack x Sunny Boy, which was presented by German Grand Prix rider Sylvia Zimmer, achieved a knock down price of 65,000 euro.
Five times the hammer struck for an amount higher than 100,000 euro. Detlef Ruddat's Soliman de Hus premium stallion sold for 100,000 euro to Jørgen Schmidt of stud farm Bøgegården in Denmark.
The average price for a licensed stallion at the 2013 South German licensing was a strong 58,593 euro, while the non-licensed colts totalled an average price of 19,000 euro.
