Lisanne Zoutendijk and her own 2012 European Pony Champion Champ of Class (by Champion de Luxe) aced the third leg of the 2012-2013 KNHS FEI Pony Cup show circuit, winning the qualifier in Genemuiden, The Netherlands, on Saturday 9 February 2013. No less than 36 combinations competed at this third qualifier.
Zoutendijk and the buckskin Champ of Class scored a whopping 74.10% to claim victory and stay miles ahead of the competition. The winner of the first two qualifiers, Febe van Zwambagt, placed second with Coco Jambo (70.21%) and third with Dr. Watson (69.40%).
Zoutendijk also landed a fourth place with her second pony Amaretto ( 69.23%) while Joelle Peters and the Belgian owned New Forest Pony Haasendonck's Sultan slotted in fifth with 68.93%.
Judge Peter Bonhof was pleased with the organization and level of the show. "I enjoyed this big group of Z2 ponies. The level was overall good with a few top pairs placing at the top. A point that many combinations should work on is bending and collection," the judge commented.
About the winner, Bonhof said that "Lisanne Zoutendijk rode a strong test in a nice forward tempo with good connection with the bit." The judge also said that "it's nice to see Febe ride. she rides nicely forward and is meticulous in her punctuation."
