The 2013 Florida Dressage Classic CDI-W, presented by the USPRE Association, starts competition on Friday 15 February 2°13 with a record number of entries for national and international dressage riders. This is the second CDI show in the 2013 Adequan Global Dressage Festival and runs February 14-17.
Last night's PRE Party, hosted by the USPRE Association, welcomed almost 700 guests to The Stadium at Palm Beach International Equestrian Center. Featured guests were Spanish Olympic riders Juan Manuel Munoz Diaz and Jose Daniel Martin Dockx, who rode American-owned Cuatrero and Bolero, brothers of their Olympic mounts.
Another great performance came from Nicholas Fyffe on Fiero, while U.S. Olympian and owner Robert Dover commented on the horse's presentation and attributes. Additional performances came from Janne Rumbough on one of her up-and-coming young horses Afilado, as well as several students of Lendon Grey's Winter Intensive Training (WIT) program.
A special exhibition of the local New Horizons Elementary School flamenco dancers, led by Maria Guimon, was well-received as the talented young dancers wowed the crowd. Chef Frederic Boyer created a delicious menu of food that featured paella and other Spanish specialities.
CDI-W classes started today with the Grand Prix, which had 18 entries. Everyone is welcome to come out to watch Friday night's FEI Grand Prix Freestyle, which starts at 7 pm and will feature the best riders from today's Grand Prix. Special prizes will be handed out to the audience, so don't miss out on this great night of dressage!
