The elite Hanoverian breeding stallion De Niro has finally been recognized and approved by the KWPN Dutch warmblood society. The Donnerhall x Akzent II offspring currently dominates the WBFSH Dressage Stallion Ranking and has beaten KWPN legend Jazz.
De Niro has proven his worth as a breeding stallion already years ago but it has taken the KWPN society until 2013 to fully accept the stallion into its program.
"De Niro could mean a lot for diversifying the genes for KWPN Dressage horse breeding," said the KWPN press office.
De Niro has more than 70 licensed sons and no less than six of his offspring were nominated for the 2012 Olympic Games in London: Desperados (Kristina Sprehe), Dablino (Anabel Balkenhol), D'Agostino (Fabienne Lutkemeier), Delgado (Beatriz Ferrer-Salat), Donnerfee (Claudia Fassaert) and Devon L (Diane Creech).
The KWPN licensing committee recently inspected De Niro on his confirmation and the stallion also fulfilled the X-ray requirements the KWPN society has set for stallions.
