Ingrid Klimke has suddenly lost the ride on the 11-year old Hanoverian gelding Liostro (by Le Primeur x Wenzel I) . The Oplander family, which owns the horse, has decided to sell the chestnut Grand Prix level competed gelding.

"I just got the message that Liostro will be sold," said a stunned Klimke. "It was a surprise to me when I received a text message today from the owner, saying that Liostro would be withdrawn for his start at the CDI Dortmund. I regret it much because I had so much fun training Liostro. He really developed well the past few months."

Liostro was supposed to compete in the 2013 CDI Dortmund Grand Prix today but was scratched from the competition list. Last weekend the pair performed well at the 2013 CDI Bremen, finishing fourth in the Grand Prix.

Liostro was initially trained by Fernand Wetz and later on competed at FEI level by Birgit Finken. In November 2011 the Oplander family decided to move the horse to Ingrid Klimke's yard in Munster, Germany. Klimke continued Liostro's training and development at Grand Prix level.
