Following the withdrawal of Rozzie Ryan as Asian Pacific World Cup winner, Australian Lyndal Oatley will be filling her spot representing her League at the 2013 World Cup Finals in Gothenburg, Sweden, on 24 - 28 April 2013.
Rozzie Ryan and GV Bullwinkle were the winners of the 2013 Asian Pacific World Cup League at the 2013 CDI-W Werribee, but the Australian based pair opted not to make the journey to Sweden. Second placed pair Maree Tomkinson and Diamantina declined as well. Lyndal Oatley and her Oldenburg gelding Sandro Boy (by Sandro Hit x Argentinus) are now filling up the vacant spot and will make the trip from their German base to Sweden.
"I'm hugely proud and looking forward to having such an awesome opportunity to represent our League at such a prestigious event," said a beaming Oatley. "I would be nowhere without the huge support I get. But specifically I would like to thank my family, my hubby Patrik Kittel, all the girls here at Outstanding Stables, Angelica Lundström my Olympic right hand, and also Iris Groeneveld and Eugene Reesink for the opportunity to have such a wonderful horse."
Last year Australian duo Rachael Sanna and Jaybee Alabaster were the Pacific League representatives at the 2012 World Cup Finals and the duo finished 14th in the Kur to Music. Oatley will be representing her home nation this year.
"For me it's really important to have our League represented and it would have been great to have Rozzie over here as she has had such a successful year, and well deserved also," Lyndal stated. "Now my entire focus will be on this event and finalising my Kur, so we can strut our stuff with the best of the best in Sweden."
