At the 2013 Danish Warmblood Stallion Licensing on Thursday 7 March 2013 the Danish warmblood licensing committee announced which 4-year-old and older stallions with a valid performance test were licensed and which only received a 1-year breeding approval until they have achieved better performance results.
On the last day of the stallion licensing the champions were crowned and among the 4-year-old stallions the licensing committee made a choice which was extremely popular with the crowd.
Every year two challenge trophies are assigned among the 4-year-old stallions with a valid performance test; Elvin Rasmussens trophy goes to the best Danish-born jumping stallion and Aage Ravns trophy to the best Danish-bred dressage stallion.
This year no 4-year-old jumping stallion had qualified for the trophy which then went to 5-year-old Mønsteds Hardcore by Heartbeat/Come Fast xx owned by Hanne Helmers & Frank Kjelberg and bred by Ina Mønsted Pedersen.
The performance winner Spitfire Z was appointed 4-year-old jumping champion stallion. He is born in the Netherlands and owned by Stald Cajus.
Historical breeder success
The proclamation of Sezuan as the 4-year-old dressage champion stallion was applauded by the spectators. Sezuan has achieved the highest score ever at a Danish performance test and he stands out as a highly functional and rideable stallion and moves with suppleness, rhythm and power. Sezuan was also honored with the Aage Ravn’s challenge trophy. He received standing ovations from the audience when presented in hand by Andreas Helgstrand.
Sezuan is bred by Linette Jæger who has only bred two foals in her career as a horse breeder. However she has achieved the highly unusual honor of receiving the challenge trophy twice. Last year she received it for Zonik, also by Blue Hors Zack.
