Katrinelund Youngster Championship in jumping found its winner in the Carmargue-daughter Cambodia who had been in the lead since the first round at the 2013 Danish Warmblood Stallion Licensing in Herning, Denmark, on 6 - 10 March 2013.

Cambodia is bred and owned by Henrik Hansen and was well presented in Herning by Louise Søgaard. Already in the first round the mare received four times 9 from the two judges Bo Kristoffersen and Bo K. Møller. Cambodia and Louise took a firm grip on the lead in the second round and got 9.5 for capacity from the two judges. They described the mare as having massive capacity and an especially good and adjustable canter. The Norwegian test rider Stein Endresen was enthusiastic as he gave her a 9 for capacity and a 7 for rideability. Cambodia finished with 852.5 points.

"This horse has all the capacity one can wish for. She lacks a bit of rideability which should develop once she gets stronger," said Endresen.

Runner-up was another Carmargue-offspring, the gelding Dior owned and bred by Svend Ove Jensen and ridden by Bjarne Mark. Dior was one of the horses which received the highest score from test rider Stein Endresen. He gave the impressive gelding a 9 for rideability and 8.5 for capacity. He was more than a little impressed, as he bought Dior together with Ib Kirk & Katrinelund at the Spring Auction Saturday afternoon. Dior scored 846.3 points in total.

Third in line was gold medal mare Bøgegårdens Quintana by Bøgegårdens Quidam, bred and owned by Stinna & Jørgen Schmidt and ridden by Jesper Meyenburg. Quintana was Jumper Mare of the Year in 2011, and was one of the better horses after the first two rounds. What took her to the podium was really good scores from test rider Stein Endresen who had her as one of the best horses in the competition and gave her 9.5 for capacity and 9 for rideability, making her total at 845 points.

The test rider has another honorary task which is naming the happiest athlete in the Young Horse Championship. Stein Endresen chose the last horse he tested, and that was Bøgegårdens Quintana.

"It is a horse with inner harmony, in constant balance and with much attention directed towards me as a rider," said Stein Endresen about Quintana.
