American Grand Prix rider Heather Blitz has decided to decline the USEF High Performance grant to train and compete in Europe this year. Blitz was one of ten reicipients of this highly coveted training grant.
The Wellington and Boston based Blitz has decided not to take up one of the USA's ten grants to gain access to Europe, saying it's just not the right time for her and her 10-year old Danish warmblood gelding Paragon (by Don Schufro).
"I just don't want to push him this summer. It's too early. I will instead focus on my move to the Boston area and showing the 5-year old stallion Ripline," Heather told Eurodressage. "I don't know who will replace me. That will be up to the high performance committee."
