Frankfurt based German Young Rider Tamara Rehnig has acquired the 11-year old Grand Prix horse Liostro to enable her transition to Under 25 level.

Liostro is a 2002 born Hanoverian gelding by Le Primeur out of Whitney (by Wenzel I x Absatz).  He was initially trained from novice to Inter I level by Luxembourg's Fernand Wetz. The Verden based Oplander family acquired the chestnut gelding and put in training with Birgit Finken, who brought the horse to Grand Prix level. Finken showed the horse in the Medien Cup in Germany and qualified for the Finals.

The Oplander family decided to give the horse to Ingrid Klimke in November 2011, after Ingrid lost Damon Hill to Helen Langehanenberg. Under the German Olympic eventing rider Liostro continued to florish at Grand Prix level. In March 2013, however, the Oplander suddenly decided to take away the horse to be sold and announced their decision via text message to Klimke, who had planned on showing the horse in Dortmund.

Rehnig acquired Liostro as Under 25 horse. Rehnig was originally trained by Thorsten Dieta and now works with Hessian team trainer Hans-Günther Scholten. Tamara made her international show debut this year at the 2013 CDIO Saumur aboard the Hanoverian bred Valentinho (by Von Velten x Argument).
