The British based Southern Cross Stud has purchased the KWPN licensed stallion Armani as Grand Prix prospect for Australian Olympian Hayley Beresford.
Armani is an 8-year old Dutch warmblood stallion bred by the Beijer family from Puiflijk, The Netherlands. The bay stallion is by United out Tuzla (by Jazz x Ulft), a full sister to Adelinde Cornelissen's Parzival who won Olympic silver at the 2012 Games in London and is current the number one horse on the FEI World Ranking.
Armani scored 80,5 points at the 2008 KWPN Stallion Performance Testing and successfully competing in the KNHS/KWPN Stallion Competition circuit under John Tijssen. In 2012 the pair competed at Advanced Medium level in Holland.
Armani will be trained by Australian Olympic rider Hayley Berresford, who was introduced to Jill and Jules of Southern Cross Stud by a mutual friend.
“Hayley has done a superb job of producing some high profile stallions such as Belissimo M and Relampago," said Southern Cross Stud owner Jill Walker. "Hayley understands the demands placed on a stallion by combining breeding commitments with sporting ones and we feel that Armani couldn’t be in better hands. Armani is a beautiful modern type with a super temperament and we are excited about incorporating him into our breeding programme, as well as watching him develop in the sport.”
Jules Walker is thrilled with the new addition to his farm, as well as with the new partnership with Beresford. "With GB Team rider Anna Ross Davies training our horses in the UK, we feel really lucky to be building such a great team for the stud," Jules added.
